A collection of 38 classic waldorf songs in the Pentatonic Scale
for children.
The contents of this booklet originate in the music-program of Rudolf Steiner Schools. The curriculum of these schools emphasizes the desirability of the pentatonic scale for nursery, kindergarten and lower grades I and 2. The need for songs in this scale on the part of teachers has become more and more obvious. Especially to meet this need, this volume was assembled, in the hope that it may assist teachers in their work. However, the requirement is not confined to schools in English-speaking countries. Material is also needed on the European continent, for instance, for the teaching of English as a foreign language. Material intended for nurseries in Anglophone schools may be used in Grades I and 2 elsewhere, for the purpose of teaching English. I wish to thank all those, who have assisted me in putting this booklet together, and express the hope, it may find its way in the world movement for Rudolf Steiner education.
